FREE INDUSTRY REPORTS

eyefortransport has been trying to find out how well 3PL providers really know their customers ...

... Respondents to a recent 3PL survey were asked what they  think are the key concerns cited by shippers when they assess outsourcing to a 3PL provider. 77% believed the key concern to be “loss of control”.  Yet, according to the results of a 3PL users’ survey, only 28% of shippers see this as a barrier to logistics outsourcing and instead, it’s “perceived service issues” and “perceived higher costs” that dissuade more than 34%.

According to the survey, despite the connection between warehousing and inventory management, only 6% of shippers outsource their inventory management, while almost two-thirds (61%) happily hand over their warehousing operations to 3PLs.  Find out more trends in the new reports!

JUST RELEASED: The "Outsourcing Logistics 2007 Report" was created from a survey of Fortune 500 shippers in North America to assess how they are making use of the 3PL industry. It looks at which parts of the supply chain are currently being outsourced to a third party, the challenges and opportunities for 3PL-users, 3PL performance measurements and tips on enhancing these ever increasing logistics partnerships.

You can now download this report free of charge by completing the form below

– you will be sent the PDF directly to the email address given in the form.

PLUS: You will also receive the PDF for the new "3PL Market 2007 Report" – which was a survey of 3PL providers across North America and aimed to analyse both the 2007 findings but also compare the results to those revealed in the 2006 survey. It gives 3PLs, their partners and their customers an insight into where the market is heading and how to make the most of these trends.
