eyefortransport has been
trying to find out how well 3PL providers really know their customers
...
... Respondents to a recent 3PL survey were asked what they
think are the key concerns cited by shippers when they assess outsourcing
to a 3PL provider. 77% believed the
key concern to be “loss of control”.
Yet, according to the results of a 3PL users’ survey, only
28% of shippers see this as a barrier to logistics outsourcing
and instead, it’s “perceived service issues” and
“perceived higher costs” that dissuade more than 34%.
According to the survey,
despite the connection between warehousing and inventory management,
only 6% of shippers outsource their inventory management, while
almost two-thirds (61%) happily hand over their warehousing operations
to 3PLs. Find out more trends
in the new reports!
