Andrew Edwards has fifteen years of experience within logistics. For the last five years he has been working in the Asia Pacific. He is presently based in Mumbai where he heads up Business Development for South Asia at DHL Exel Supply Chain.

Malcolm Monteiro is currently Senior Vice-President & Area Director for South Asia Area of DHL Express, the market leaders in Express Delivery Service industry. Malcolm is also a member of the Asia Pacific Management Board of the company. He is based in Mumbai at the DHL Express South Asia Area office which is responsible for international and domestic express operations in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives. Malcolm also represents DHL’s interests in the Blue Dart Aviation, the cargo aviation business unit.

Malcolm started his career in the manufacturing sector before joining the market leader, Blue Dart Express in 1989 as Vice-President Operations. He held a number of senior management roles in IT, Sales & Services before taking over as Chief Operating Officer of Blue Dart Express in 2001. In March 2006 he was promoted as the Managing Director of Blue Dart Express, subsequent to acquisition of the company by DHL Express.

During his tenure as Managing Director of Blue Dart, he has overseen the induction of several new aircrafts and led continued high growth in the Domestic Express business in India. During this period, he has also ensured a smooth transition in aligning the Blue Dart domestic express business with the wider DHL Network plan.

David Macpherson has over 20 years experience in international logistics.

Prior to his current position as RVP he held a number of senior management positions as Director for Africa and District Manager in Dubai. He is currently based in Dubai where he is responsible for the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.

David graduated from Reading University in the UK and his career has taken him to Africa, the UK and the Middle East

Maheshwar is a Marine Engineer, having graduated from Marine Engineering College, Kolkata in 1980. He had sailed on board foreign going merchant ships of Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, Mumbai from 1980 to 1997, the last six years 6 of which, he was a Chief Engineer.  He picked up his expertise in Container Refrigeration during his stint ashore with Carrier Transicold from 1999 to 2001 as Customer Service Manager, Reefer Container Products, South Asia, during which he had set up the service office and spare parts depot for the region of South Asia. He is presently working as Training Superintendent for Fleet Management Training Institute, the Mumbai based training arm of Fleet Management Limited which is a Hong Kong based Shipmanagement Company providing technical management and manning for over 175 ships of various sizes and types including container ships and reefer vessels.

He is a reefer container trainer and consultant and had conducted many training programmes for seagoing engineers of various shipping companies. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Management through Distance Mode from BITS, Pilani, India on Inland usage of Refrigerated Containers for mitigating Post Harvest Losses of Horticultural Crops in India.

He is a regular contributor of articles for many technical journals and shipping magazines on topics related to cold chain, logistics, post harvest management and refrigerated containers.  He has made several presentations in many conferences and seminars on the above topics. He has written a book titled  CONTAINER REFRIGERATION, which is being published by Witherbys, UK. The book is in its final stage of editing and is expected to hit the stands in August 2007.

Narayan Iyer is currently the Chief Solutions Officer for the Future Group, whose lines of business includes the largest organized retail group in India.  Narayan Iyer has over fifteen years of professional experience in consulting and research in the supply chain management, optimization, inventory management, analytics, e-commerce, multi channel retail, and technology in the Retail and Consumer Goods industry verticals in India and abroad.

His clients include Nike, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, Wendy's, Gillette, and a number of Fortune 1000 Retailers addressing strategic supply chain and business challenges. Rakesh Suri is currently Director Ocean Product of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics-India; a leading German based International Freight Forwarder. Rakesh is also supporting the India Subcontinent Ocean Product for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. He is based in Delhi at the Hellmann Worldwide Logistics India Corporate office.

Rakesh started his career in the Merchant Navy in 1979 and had worked as a Captain on vessels owned by the leading German Ship owner Egon Oldendorff, prior joining Consolidated Cargo Services- CMS Group, the agents of Danish Shipping Line -"Clipper" in the year 1994. He subsequently Joined BAX Global India Ltd as Director Ocean in 2001. Rakesh Restructured the Bax Global India Ocean Department, spearheading a task force to refocus global marketing strategy and integration with logistics/Warehousing-SCM.

During his tenure in BAX Global and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics as Director Ocean he initiated and established direct valuable alliances that allow organisations to adapt to the needs of overseas and emerging markets. Rahul Mehta is currently co-promoter and CEO of Infreight Logistics Solutions Ltd., a venture he floated with Sundaram Finance Ltd. as a strategic partner. Sanjay Sinha is the Chief Executive of Mahindra Logistics – a division of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) which is a US$3 billion automotive group in India. He was recruited by M&M in 1999 to setup the logistics business for M&M – enabling a paradigm shift from a focus on products to include services as well. He was with Xerox Corporation which initiated the strategy of selling ‘copies’ and not copier only.

Following university, where he studied Business and European Languages, Neil pursued accounting qualifications, becoming qualified in 1992 in the UK.

Since that time his career has spanned a succession of multinationals, a wide variety of roles, and has taken him all over the world, into industries as diverse as publishing, advertising, telecommunications, oil & gas, transportation, logistics and banking.

Prior to founding Mangrove Holdings in 2002, an investor and advisor to growth companies in the transportation and logistics sector, Neil was Vice President for the Asia Pacific region with Exel plc (now DHL) where he played a major role in the transformation of the business from that of asset-operator to integrated supply chain service provider.

At Exel, Neil was instrumental in establishing Exel's logistics joint venture in China, turning around a number of unprofitable divisions and also creating highly profitable new markets for Exel's core transportation and logistics products in the Automotive, Chemical and Industrial sectors across the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining Exel, Neil was a key member of Marconi's International Investments team and involved in acquisitions, mergers, and fund-raising around the globe.

Neil is a founder and director of Herculea Inc, a Dallas, Texas-based provider of global transportation solutions to various industry sectors. Herculea has a number of subsidiaries around the world supporting various customer-specific logistics activities.

Herculea’s largest subsidiary is Houston-based ProShipLine Inc, on whose board Neil also sits. ProShipLine sells capacity of the conventional vessels of its principals around the world and has developed a niche service in the ocean transportation of oversized and heavylift cargo from the US and Europe to the Middle East and India. Neil was also a founding director of the shipping subsidiary of Suzlon, an India-based global wind energy company.

Since 2004, Neil has been retained as management consultant to SC Fulfil, a Singapore-based company which manages more than 100,000 logistics transactions per month for HP and within this has responsibility for the door to door transportation of more than USD20bn of goods pr annum.

Neil is also a director of SC Fulfil. Neil also sits on the board of TradeNet Services, Asia’s largest outsourced customs brokerage document processor, OneXpress, a niche courier, express and parcel operator and Fincorp, a Hong Kong-based provide of management services to the hotel and food and beverage industry.

Neil is in demand as a speaker and moderator to logistics and transportation-focused industry gatherings in Asia and was Chairman of Air Freight Asia 2006, Asia’s largest gathering of air freight focused business and cargo airlines and is also sought after as an industry expert for government level focus groups on the transportation industry.

Presently based in Singapore, from where he travels frequently within Asia and to the US and Europe, Neil has also spent a significant amount of time in Hong Kong, Belgium and Russia. With a career spanning over 30 years and an Industry experience of 22 years, Harry Lagad brings a blend of western and asian business practices and experiences.

Working on the high seas in his early Naval career, Harry  migrated to business management in the early eighties. His work experience spans across the five continents and as many varied industries covering  a blend of general management, business development, manufacturing and  supply chain. He has worked with such astute organizations as Pacific Dunlop, Kodak, Tech Pacific, TNT and currently with Nokia.

As Logistics Director of APAC for Nokia, Harry is responsible for the total Front end operations of Nokia’s business in APAC.His knowledge of products and practices cover the Footwear and Apparrel industries, Sporting goods, Photographic materials, Plastics, Timber, IT distribution, third party logistics and telecom.  Harry specializes in  Leadership across Business Management and Supply Chain.

Kam Poh Yuen is the Industry Solution Specialist for Ports and Shipping Industry in the Products & Industries Business Unit (PIBU), Oracle Corporation..

Poh Yuen has more than 16 years of experience with PSA Corporation in the IT Division.  Through his career in PSA Corporation, he has developed a considerable and varied experience in the transport industry.  He was involved in the design and development of port operations solutions, ERP solutions and IT planning.

He has been involved in and associated with various ERP projects in ports and shipping in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.

Poh Yuen has a MBA and a MSC (Technology Management) degree.

Saj Kumar works in the Applications Centre of Excellence based in Singapore. Saj has been with Oracle for three years in various customer facing roles. In his current role Saj works with strategic customers in APAC understanding business issues and developing an SCM roadmap to meet their requirements. He works across product teams to ensure that customer requirements are converted into concrete product offerings. He also actively participates in industry events across the region to understand current supply chain and logistics trends and provides counsel to customers on supply chain strategies and solutions available to help them improve productivity and profitability.

Prior to joining Oracle, Saj worked with i2 Technologies for seven years in various roles. He has many years of direct experience designing and implementing supply chain solutions in the manufacturing industry. He has a keen interest in applying constraint based planning techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems. He assists customers in solution planning using his strong technical and business skills to optimize business / manufacturing processes and technical infrastructure. Saj has an in-depth understanding of supply chain optimization and operations management strategies for MTS, BTO, ETO and Hybrid manufacturing environments.

Saj has been working in the software industry for over 19 years and started his career working with simulation systems. He is passionate about software applications and their role in solving real-world engineering problems.

Sunil Wahi is a Senior Solutions Manager for Supply Chain Management products at Oracle Corporation, Asia Pacific. His focus is on Supply Chain Logistics - Transportation Management, Warehouse Management and RFID solutions.

Sunil started his career as a Trainer and Developer on Oracle ERP products in India before joining an Oracle Partner in the Middle East architecting and implementing Solutions on Oracle ERP, SCM and CRM suites for about 7 years.

At Oracle Asia Pacific, Sunil has been involved in developing solutions around CRM, SCM and Data Hubs suites for customers from varied industries like Automotive, HiTech, Engineering & Construction and Logistics. He has also been working with Product Strategy & Development providing inputs in further enhancement of the Oracle solutions.

Paul was educated at Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen, then at Worcester College, Oxford and did his Law Society Finals at the Guildford College of Law.  He qualified in 1988 and spent 11 years at Clifford Chance in London (including a year in Hong Kong).  He joined Prettys in 1997 where he set up the Shipping Department and is now assisted by 5 lawyers.  He is the CEO of Prettys.

Paul has many years’ experience advising Owners, Charterers, Shipyards, Ports, Trading Houses, logistics providers and Banks in relation to strategies for managing risk in the operation of vessel fleets, including drafting of Charterparties, finance agreements and other standard shipping and transport documents.

RSI provides specialized training and consultancy for the international transportation and logistics industry.  In her current role, Gina is responsible for business development for the company and is a certified trainer actively involved in training delivery.

Gina started her career in the logistics and transportation industry with FedEx.  She was involved with the business development of the express, freight and logistics services.

Prior to joining RSI, Gina was an Account Director with Exel Logistics based in Singapore and later Hong Kong.  As an Account Director, Gina provided strategic and operational leadership to a global team to achieve growth in revenue and profits of a key account across all 3 regions and product lines.  Over the years in the industry, Gina has won several internal and external awards in sales achievement and customer service excellence.

Ralf Jahncke, graduated from the top logistics university of Germany, Polytechnical College of Heilbronn, with specialization in Transportation, Freight Traffic and Management. His thesis on "The development of multimode transportation – Challenges and Solutions" was published in a famous German publication.

He started his career in mid-level management in 1983 at a large multi modal transportation company, Kombiverkehr, and in 1988 he moved on to serve as Managing Director of the company. He later joined D. Logistics AG, Germany, as Chief Sales Officer, before heading CSC Cargo Service Center B.V., Netherlands, as Chief Executive Officer.

In 1993 he founded TransCare AG in Germany, a consulting firm providing specialised services and concepts for ports, rail, terminals and intermodal transports, as well as supply chain management solutions. TransCare has since expanded and has presence in CIS and Asia, with offices in Moscow and New Delhi.
