Company Overview |
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is Europeâs 3rd largest cargo airport (1.5 million tonnes in 2010). 92 airlines (of which 24 full freighter airlines) connect Schiphol with 301 destinations worldwide. Asia is Schipholâs largest market, with 45% of cargo being transported to and from Asia. Schiphol is connected to every economic centre in the world, through an optimal combination of both direct full freighter flights and belly freight.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol provides excellent facilities such as 4 perishable centres, cargo fast lanes, an animal hotel and a large network of Europeâs top logistic service providers. Over 150 logistics service providers use Schiphol as base for their logistic activities. In addition, over half of all Asian and American European Distribution Centres are located in the Netherlands.
Schiphol is actively pursuing innovation and sustainability in the air cargo supply chain. Schiphol SmartGate Cargo is a joint project by the airport, customs and the air cargo industry to integrate monitoring of goods leaving the EU from Schiphol, setting the standard for future air cargo handling. Being smart also means being paperless, therefore Schiphol actively stimulates the use of e-freight.

Company Overview |
GEFCOâs strategic aim - as expressed in its slogan âLogistics for Manufacturersâ - is a culmination of the groupâs founding values inherited from 60 years of industrial experience. These four values guide GEFCO every day.
- Firstly, proximity with manufacturers, because GEFCO shares the same culture and speaks the same language as its customers. The group therefore understands and meets the expectations of each local market and their customers.
- The international momentum provided by the groupâs business lines and subsidiaries is also critical. Operating in over 100 countries, GEFCO implements inbound and outbound logistics solutions tailored to a now globalised industry.
- Another fundamental value for GEFCO customers lies in the stringent standards applied to both solutions and operations. GEFCO assesses each and every operation in the supply chain in terms of quality, cost and lead times.
- The fourth key value is cutting-edge service through innovation for all customers. GEFCO manages physical and information flows in real time to develop customized solutions that deliver gains in quality, brand image and competitiveness.
